Fundraising » Families in Need
During this extremely unique and difficult time, coming together as a community means more now than ever. The John Hay Partners PTO would like to provide a way for the community to make donations to aide our John Hay families in need. The donation you provide by using the button below will be earmarked for families in need during this crisis and be kept completely separate from general John Hay fundraising. Funds raised will go directly to families in need in the form of gift cards or essential items. With your help, we can get through this difficult time. As of May 5th, you've raised $1,100!! Thank you for your generosity!!
Queen Anne Book Drive for John Hay Families in Need
One option for honoring teachers and staff during Staff Appreciation Week (May 4 - 8), while also supporting students who are not able to access printed books during the closure of Seattle Public Schools, is to donate to the John Hay fundraiser with Queen Anne Book Company. We are fundraising to provide books for about 100 students at John Hay, as well as Viewlands Elementary School, the school John Hay is partnering with to sponsor their families. At Viewlands ES the poverty rate is 35% and their families are feeling the impact of school closure heavily.
If you're able, consider donating in honor of a teacher who has had a special impact on your or your children's lives. (List the teacher's names in the Order comments section when checking out.)
With your donation, John Hay's teachers will shop for books for the students and will deliver them to the families in need. Giving these families access to books will help keep students reading and minimize the opportunity gap at this critical time when school and public libraries are closed.
As of May 5th, you've raised $560!! Let's keep it going, Jaguars!
Parents Helping Parents
Are you feeling overwhelmed getting through the day with your student? Sometimes a little support from a fellow parent is what we all ned to get through a day. If you are up for lending a should or giving a suggestion or two to a fellow parent struggling to get through the day with his or her kiddo, this is an opportunity for you. Volunteers can give suggestions for what may be working at home for them. A simple phone call or email of support could make all the difference for a parent feeling overwhelmed.

As we all do our best to create a positive learning environment for our kids at home, not all of us are technically inclined. Setting up or installing new programs offer new challenges that can leave busy and overwhelmed parents at the end of their rope. We asked our community for volunteers to provide virtual office hours for those in search of technical assistance.
Below are contacts available to our community for help. Send them an email if you have questions:
Craig can assist with Zoom set up, Teams, Skype on Mac OS, iOS, and Windows Systems.
