PTO Positions Still Available
Now more than ever, our Parent Teacher Organization is a valuable resource for our student body. As our students begin school this year, many will need support to get back on track. By taking on one of these Board roles, you will become an integral part of making a positive difference for our community and ensuring our students, teachers, and families have all the support needed for success in the years to come.
You will find more detailed descriptions of the positions on the Partners website: https://www.johnhaypartners.org/board-members.html
The following positions are still open this year. Each is a two-year commitment ending in 2023.

Please reach out to our current PTO co-chairs for any questions or clarifications, and especially if you're interested in serving in any of the open positions.

Hanne E. Koppelman
Hi fellow John Hay parents. I've been a resident of Queen Anne since 2013, and my kids are now at John Hay in 3rd and 5th grade. I started volunteering back in Boston at a PTA non-profit called LexFUN running a weekly Community Event for a year, followed by holding the Communications chair, where I brought the organization from a PDF newsletter to an online platform. During a 12 month stint in Silicon Valley, I had the pleasure of doing Communications for the Marshall Lane PTA on Konstella in addition to teaching pre-K. During COVID, I've been helping my kids keep up with SPS online school while managing my fourth house renovation. On the weekends, our family hikes the PNW with our two Retriever dogs, attends our kids' Cascade Swim Team events, and our summers are spent at our house in Norway.
Hi, my name is Allyson Young-Clemans. I have been a part of the John Hay community for 4 years now. I have a 2nd grader (Ethan Clemans) and a 4th grader (Devin Clemans).
I started being a room parent last year for 1st grade and then again this year with 2nd and 4th grade. I took over the Lead Room Parent responsibility this year and have enjoyed doing so.
I have also volunteered with the school (pre covid) with such things as auction items, picture day or just helping around the office.
I look forward to being a greater part of this community and spirit.
