What is happening with the commemorative pavers?
We’ve sold an amazing 88 pavers so far! Let’s get to our goal of 100 by the end of March. Pavers are still $250 and order forms are online on the playground page or in front of Lynn Baker/Volunteer Coordinator’s office. If you know any alumni that might be interested in purchasing a paver, be sure to send them the link to our blog or playground webpage.

What’s next for the playground?
We have formed a Play Structure Committee. This group will meet this month to begin the effort of deciding what elements may work for the play structure. There will be an opportunity for the students and community to view the options and vote. Then we go out to bid with a request for proposal to qualified vendors. Stay tuned for more info.
Construction drawings are nearing completion and we’re almost ready to go in to the city for permit. 

Where are we with funding?
We are still waiting to hear from a few grants that we applied for last year. We applied to King County Parks for a large grant and should know by the end of January if we have been awarded any funds. The next Department of Neighborhoods grant application for $100,000 is due in March. The school is still accepting any and all donations from families and businesses to help make the playground a reality. 

What is the schedule?
Depending on available funds and final contractor bid amount, we plan to start construction after the last day of school in June and hope to have most or all of the playground open by first day of school in September 2018!
