Wondering what’s next for our playground?
We’ve just about come to the end of our Department of Neighborhoods' $25,000 matching funds grant. From that grant we now have a concept masterplan, a construction estimate and a preliminary strategy for Phase 1 construction.
What does this mean?
The masterplan is our collective dream, the estimate is what the dream costs, and Phase 1 is the reality of what we can likely raise and build by September 2018.
We go to work applying for grants and finding donors. The remaining amount will come from fundraising.
Grant applications are in the works and our first fundraising effort is May 10th with Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG. This is a one-day online giving event to raise funds. Mark your calendars and spread the word!

Want to help? If you have an hour or two, you can help with grant research, fundraising idea research, assist in coordinating bake sales or the Galer wall mural painting or source funds from donors. There are lots of tasks and not a lot of time. Contact Laura Malkasian Huggins if you have a bit of time and would like to help. Also looking for members for the core playground team.
